New Year

New Year is coming. Time flies, the day after tomorrow is 2008. January 1st, 2007 just like yesterday, but the day after tomorrow is January 1st, 2008. There were a lot of things happened in the past year. I had a lot of unforgettable memories. I met a lot of new friends, and heard some bad news. Once, I thought my friend and I couldn’t forget the sorrow of my friend’s death; but we still did it. New Year comes; I wish I can have good year in 2008.
There is one thing I can’t understand it. Why I have to go to school tomorrow? Because January 1st is Tuesday, as usual, the government should give us a holiday on Monday. But this time they didn’t do it. Therefore, I don’t have four-day holidays, and I can’t go to Tai-chung to celebrate the New Year Eve. That’s one of the things I hate it.

Friend visiting

I had a lot of fun last weekend. I had been waited for so long. My goods friends came to visit me. They got to Tainan at Friday night. Because of when they got here was very late; therefore we decided to go to karaoke. On Saturday afternoon we went to watch the movie named NATIONAL TREASURE II. It is a great movie. The whole story is so interesting and exciting. My friends and I were really enjoying it, and we thought it probably has next series. Because the story seems doesn’t finish. We wish it has nest series. After movie, we went to Tainan city for window shopping and waited for another friend.

A hug

A hug can make a people touched. At first, I really can’t believe it very much. But I already understood it this week. I had a bad mood this week. Something happened that makes me feel so sad. Even though I really sad and I really need someone stayed with me, but I still didn’t tell anyone. All I can do was keep silence. No one could talk; no one could give me some advices. That made me has no idea how to do. I felt my heart was so cold, but I couldn’t do anything.
One day, I went to work. One of my students saw me. She ran toward to me. Suddenly, she gave a big hug. I was so surprise that why she gave me a hug. Then, I knew it why she gave me a hug. She just wanted me to talk with her, and showed she likes me. This hug made me so touched, that I didn’t know how to describe my feeling. I thought my student might not know I was in bad mood and gave me a hug. And she might not know that her hug gave me some power. But in that moment, all I knew that my heart wasn’t that cold anymore.
After this hug, it makes me realize a hug really can make people touched. No matter that person who gives you a hug understand you or not. An action without a word can makes someone feel touched; I think I understand that kind of feeling.

Tang yuan

I went home this week again. This time I asked my mom to cook tang yuan for me. I told her “Next week is midwinter, but I won’t come back in that week, so I can’t eat tang yuan in that day. Therefore, can you cook it in this weekend?’” On Saturday morning, my mom and I went to the supermarket to buy some materials for tang yuan. We decided to eat tang yuan at night. I was so happy that I can eat tang yuan this week. Even though that means I get one-year older, but I am still so happy, because I love to eat tang yuan that my mom cook it.

Sick

I caught a cold yesterday. It was really awful. I began feel uncomfortable on Thursday morning. I got headache, running nose, and sore throat. But I didn’t go to see the doctor, because I don’t have motorcycle. Therefore, I decided to go to bed early last night. I thought if I had a good sleep at night I would feel better, but I was wrong. Because of my headache, running nose, and a big mosquito in my room, I didn’t sleep very well. I just slept for3 hours, and it was time to get up ready for school. I really hate to catch a cold. It makes me really uncomfortable.

Happy

I was so happy yesterday. Because I saw my students made progress in learning English. That’s why I was so happy. As usual, I gave them a small quiz and read the Phonic textbook for me yesterday. I found out, they can recognized more vocabulary by themselves. Besides, when I checked their test paper, I found out, they got less wrong then before. It means that they make progress in learning English. I am so happy to see they make it. Even though they don’t do very well now, but it still good news for me. That gives me more energy to help them in learning English.

Invite

One of my best friends called me this weekend. She asked me” Do you stay in your rental house this week?” I said” No, what happened?” she told me she came to Tainan with her boyfriend this weekend. She wanted to invite me to the night market with them. It was so pity that I went back to Kaohsuing this week. Thus, I didn’t see her this time. We both felt so pity about this chance to meet each other. Therefore, I invite her to come to Tainan again in December 22nd and 23rd. We want to celebrate Christmas ahead of schedule. I begin to wish that day can come earlier.

Question

Yesterday, one of my students asked me” Teacher, will you teach us in summer camp again at next year. I said” Probably, what’s the matter?” He answered me” Well, I think I will join summer camp again at next year.” Then I said” Really?” He said” Yeah, I will join summer camp again.” After I heard that, I was so happy. And I began to guess” Does he hope me to teach him again?” I thought he couldn’t bear me after this summer camp. Because I was so strict to them in this summer camp. Therefore, I thought he doesn’t like me anymore. I was so surprised that he would ask me this question. That’s means he doesn’t us, right? Actually, after the summer camp, I don’t want to teach students in summer camp again. After my student asked me that question, I thought I will consider again, because I love these students so much.

Hot pot

I went home this weekend. I usually eat at home when I go home on Friday. When I got home today, I saw my mother was cooking hot pot. I said” Wow. It looks so delicious. And it is so great that to eat hot pot in the cold day.” The weather is colder day by day. Many people like to eat hot pot in cold day, and so do I. Because drinking some hot soup can keep my body warm. Thus, I really like to eat hot pot in winter. Especially eating hot pot with my family makes me feel so happiness. I hope I can eat hot pot again when I go home next time.

Frustration

I had a new class in my work place. My students are beginners. They just began to learn English for a couple of months. Actually, they have to recognize A to Z immediately right now, but they didn’t make it. That makes me feel so surprised and sad. Because I couldn’t believe they can’t recognize A to Z immediately after we spent a lot of time to let them practiced. One of the teachers and I tried to think many different good ways to help them to learned English. But it seemed that these ways are not really useful. It gave me a lot of frustration. I hope they can learn English happily and without too much stress. And I hope one day that I can find a good way for them in learning English. Therefore, they won’t feel too much f frustration in learning English.

TOEIC exam

I had a TOEIC examination yesterday. Actually, this is my first time to attended TOEIC exam. I was a little nervous before the exam. Because I was afraid that I couldn’t finish the questions. Thus, I did some questions before the test, and I hoped it can help me. Yesterday, after I finished the exam, I found out the test was a little difficult for me. Some of questions I really couldn’t understand what it means. Even though, I finished the listening part, but I didn’t finish the reading part. Because I thought I can finished it, but I was wrong. Therefore, I couldn’t finish it. After this exam, I know how to prepare for TOEIC now, and I hope I can pass the exam next time.

Friend

One of my best friends came to visit me. She is my senior high school classmate. She said it has been a long time we didn’t meet each other. Therefore, she decided to come to Tainan at Friday night. When she got the train station, we rented a motorcycle. Then we came back to my room. After dinner, we began to plane where did we want to go tonight. Finally, we decided to have a drink at a bar. When we got there, we ordered two cup of drinks and talked about our life recently. I knew she has a wonderful life in college. Then we went to KTV for singing until five o’clock. I knew it was really crazy because we were so happy to meet each other. Besides, she had to go back to Kaohsiung before Saturday afternoon. That’s why we almost didn’t sleep for that night. But we had a good time at Friday night.

A touched movie

I watched a movie today. It was a really touched movie. It talked about a little girl who she thought she killed her father by herself. And her mother thought why she can’t stop the accident happened. After the accident happened, both of them felt sad, moreover the little girl became a deaf-mute person. Her mother took her to see a lot psychology doctors, but it was useless. No one can found out the reason why she can’t talk and heard any sound. Until one day, her neighbor noticed that she can attracted by music, then he tried to sang to her, and it worked. As the same the little girl’s mother knew a good psychology doctor to help her. In the end, they already found out why little girl became a deaf-mute person. Because she saw her father died in front of her, and she thought that was her fault. But the doctor helped her to know that she didn’t kill her father.
An accident happened makes little girl and her mother felt so sad. But they still jump out of the sadness and begin their new life. It really touched me.

No writing class

Today, we didn’t have writing class. At first, we felt very surprised because we didn’t get any message yesterday. After our classmates told us, Bill was sick. Therefore, he didn’t come to school today. Actually, when I heard the message I felt a little happy, because I had more than one hour to take a nap. Suddenly I found out there were a lot of people got sick these days. Because of the weather is changing, more and more people get sick, and so do I. I have been coughed a couple of days. It is really uncomfortable when I got sick. Thus, I wish Bill, you can recovered to health very soon.

A speech

I listened a speech lat week. It talked about how to prepare the exam for graduate school. The speaker was from a cram school. Of course we knew that he wants us can choose his cram school. But after I listened to the speech, I was considering which one is better, study further or have a job after I graduate. It confused me recently because some of good jobs need master degree or doctor degree, but I just have bachelor degree. I know that is not enough to have a good job. On the other hand, if I studied further, I don’t what goal I need to achieve. Therefore, I still think about which one is better for me. I hope I can find the answer before I graduate.

Happy Birthday

I have a lot of good friends. This time I wanted to say happy birthday to one of my best friends. Last week was his birthday, but he couldn’t get my blessing this time. Because of he studies abroad in America now. That’s why he couldn’t get my blessing because we couldn’t keep in touch very often. Even though I couldn’t say happy birthday to him to his face, but I left a message on MSN for him. I hope he can got it when he online. And I hope he can come back soon, because my friends and I really miss him.

Illegal

This Friday when I got home, I prepared for type my blog. My mom told me that computer broken. I asked her why. She said our computer’s software is illegal and caught by the software company. That’s why I couldn’t use the computer. When I heard the news I was so surprised it because I couldn’t believed that I will be catch one day. I knew it is illegal to use warez but I want to save some money. Therefore, I still used illegal thing. That is wrong thing. Because of I used warez, now I need to ask my friend to help me fix my computer. By the way, I have to say sorry to Bill because my computer broken. So I didn’t do my homework on time.

Halloween

Today was Halloween, for celebrated this holiday; we had an activity in our company. Every child had to make up like a monster. Then we had to sing a chant loudly and had a parade around the cram school. First stop, we arrived a convenient store; every child had to sang out loud the chant, and the shopkeeper gave them some candies and a cup of drink. Second stop, we got to clinic, sang the chant, and got the candies from the nurse. Last stop, we went to a restaurant, and did the same thing. Then we went back to the school. Children were felt happy about parade because this was their first time to do that. They felt quite interesting and exciting. During the whole activity, I took a lot of pictures about teachers and students. These pictures are quite funny but scary. I think this is an unforgettable experience for everyone.

cousin's engagement.

Last Saturday, I went to Taipei to join my cousin's engagement. When I got the wedding invitation, I was really surprise that my cousin is going to marry. After felt surprise, I felt happy for her because she already found her Mr. Right in her life. Therefore, when I got to Taipei and saw my cousin. She looked so beautiful and happy. When my other sisters and I went into her room, we talked a lot about our recently life because we have not met each others for a couple years. That’s why we talked a lot for long time. After lunch, we had to go home because we have to back to Kaohsuing. Therefore, we needed to leave early. But I still felt happy to saw my cousin, and I hope she can live happily with her husband.

Funny

Today, when I got to the train station, my father told me a funny thing. He said “my mother and my sisters are missing for couple hours, and my sisters didn’t go to school. Therefore, my sister’s teacher called my father to ask what happened to my sister, why she didn’t go to school. Then, my father began nervous and asked my kin to help to found them. Finally, my father found out my mother took my sisters to see the doctor, but they didn’t make a phone call to the teacher, so they made a funny thing.”
After I heard the story, I laugh loudly. I never heard such a funny thing just because they went to see the doctor and didn’t make a phone call. That made all of a kin very nervous to find them. When my sister heard that, she just felt embarrassed about that, and she felt they just like criminals to chase by our kin. That is really funny.

relationship

I have a part-time job in a cram school now. I have a class with two 12 years old girl. The relationship between them and me more like friends than a teacher and students. I feel happy about the relationship between us because I don’t want to let my students feel I am a person who is hard to talk to. Therefore, I like to join their talking sometimes. They will ask me how to deal the relationship with their classmates. If they get something problems, they will ask me how to solve it. Now, I really enjoy this kind of relationship between us. I hope I can have same kind of relationship with other kids.

custom

I have a part-time job in a breakfast store. Last Sunday, when I went to work, one of my colleagues told me about some Chinese customs. For example, sometimes we can’t say four in Taiwanese in some occasions. That is an unlucky number. Therefore, one hundred and forty dollars in Taiwanese is not suitable in breakfast. Because the sound of one hundred and forty dollars is not good. So my colleague hopes me can change the way what I say. I know there are a lot of customs in Chinese. That I might be attention what kind of customs not allows saying in some occasions. Otherwise, sometimes saying wrong words may let others feel uncomfortable.

Funny interpretation

Last Wednesday, my colleague showed me an interesting article on a newspaper. I laugh loudly after I read it. It talked about some wrong interpretations in some conferences. These wrong interpretations make audience laughing, but these are serious mistakes for an interpreter. Because wrong interpretation will give wrong message for audiences. Sometimes that might caused audiences feel uncomfortable, and make speaker feel embarrassing. After I read the article I know if I want to be a good interpreter, I should build good ability in interpretation and know the cultures in different countries. And do some homework before I interpret a conference. That will make such a funny jokes in the conferences.

Ideas

Last Monday, I met one of the foreign teachers who teach English in my workplace. He asked me what kind of game I usually let my students play. I said hammer game or sticky ball. He said the children feel bored about the old games, so he asked” Do you have any good idea for new games?” I said no, because my children all enjoy the game that I gave to. Therefore, I didn’t have to change my idea too often.
Being a teacher always need to have new ideas for lessons to make sure children won’t feel boring and lost the interesting in learning English. Thus, teacher needs to create a lot of ideas to keep their attention. Actually, it is a hard work, because sometimes you will out of ideas. Therefore, I think reading some books is a good way for me to brainstorming some new ideas.

Winter coming

I feel much cold these days. It means winter is coming. Every time when winter comes, I hope it can leave as soon as possible. Actually, I don’t like winter very much, because I hate the cold day. Even though, it is not really cold in winter in Taiwan. I still wear a lot of clothes to keep myself warm. But sometimes it is useless, because my hands and feet are still freezing. That is why I don’t like winter very much. I hope it cans warm like spring in four seasons, but I know it is impossible. Therefore, I just do my best to keep my self warm in winter, and don’t catch a cold.

Pictures

Today, I classified all the pictures about summer camp. In this summer, I worked in a summer camp, and I took a lot of pictures about their daily life in the camp. Thus, my boss wanted me to classified pictures and gives them to their parents to keep it. When I arranged these pictures make me thought about summer camp’s life. It was so great. When they had a performance in the end of summer camp, they still did a good job. All I can that every child is so adorable and so sweet. I really missed them. In addition, I hope I can have the same kind of class in next summer. I think I will enjoy the life in summer camp.

Train delay

I took train form Kaohsiung station back to Tainan on last Sunday night. When I got to the train station, I heard the broadcast said, because of the typhoon, the cable between Lu-Zhu and Da-Hu broken. Therefore, the time of train move off was not sure. Suddenly, I though “my goodness, when I back to Tainan will too late.” Then I felt very angry and I though why train delay so frequently. I hope this kind of situation can be change. Because no one likes to wait for so long, and hope can get the destination quickly, therefore every one hope train can on time. Don’t delay again.

A baseball game

Today, my favorite baseball team loss the game, I felt pity for them. New York Yankees is my favorite team. Because of one of the famous pitcher is come from Taiwan. Most of Taiwanese people like him very much, therefore when he has a competition, many people will cheer for him. But he loss the game today, many people felt pity for him. Besides the pitcher, there are a lot of players I like them very much such as Jeter, Posada, and A-Rod and so on. In short, I hope Yankees can win the World Series in the end. I will cheer up for them.

The difference between my students and other students

Every time I should go to work by train. Today when I went to work, I got on the train. I saw a lot of students in the railway carriage. They are cram school students. I thought they have outside activities, so they had to take train. There was a thing makes me very surprise that is they all spoke English, and they didn’t feel embarrassing and didn’t afraid of said in wrong way. I thought they are so brave that they speak out loud.
How about my students? My students are afraid of speak loud because they afraid of speak wrong. That is a big different between my students and other students. I hope they learn English and they can use it in daily life. Even though they will make some mistakes, but they can learn a lot from these mistakes. Therefore, they can learn English well.

Linguistics class

Today was the first time we use the linguistics textbook. This is the new class for me, for I learn only how to use the skills in the past. Therefore, it is the first time I learn theoretical English. It is a quite difficult lesson for me. Because I know the meaning of every word, but when it combines into a sentence, I think I can’t understand it. Then, I get lost. I begin to ask my friends which part does teacher talks about in the textbook.
After the class, I think I should spend more time on this class. Otherwise, I will fail in the end of semester. I don’t want to take the same course in the future. So I will try to do the best in the course.

Learn to write a teaching plan

I have a part time job for a long time. I was been a teacher assistant before the summer vacation. In the summer vacation I got a qualifications form Giraffe cram school to be a teacher. Therefore I have to write the teaching plan by myself. And this is the first time I write a teaching plan by myself. I found that is a little difficult thing for me. Because I have to think how to write in applicable way, therefore I have to spend a lot of time on it. But this is a good experience for me to practice how to write it. And I hope I can write it better time after time.

The first class of interpretation

Today is the first time we had interpretation class. Last week, teacher just told us the rule of the class and told us what we had to do this week. She wanted us make practice at home first, and when we came here this week we have to read a paragraph from an article. At the beginning of class, everyone felt very nervous because of afraid to fail the speaking. After some of classmates to give a try, we began to discuss what kind of difficult we met when we were practice. We made a list to show how much difficult we found in our practice. Then we discussed how to be a good speaker. Because of the strict teacher, everyone felt nervous about the class. But I think if we did what she wanted. We can learn a lot in this class.

The memory of Moon Festival

Last weekend until this Tuesday is Moon Festival holidays. I went back home to get together with my family. In the holidays, there were three things make me impression. First, I had a part time job in breakfast shop. It is really busy in there, I feel very tired after I worked every time. Second, I had a BBQ with my family. My sister and I went to my uncle’s house, and a lot of my family members already waiting for us. We talked a lot and ate a lot. Besides, I took some pictures for them. I hope we can get together in next Moon Festival again. Third, I watched a good series of movie. It named High School Musical. It talks about a group of high school students use songs and dancing to show their life. The songs and dancing in the movie makes me impression, so I like it very much. It was a good vacation for me; I hope I can have good memory in next Moon Festival.

Terrible experience of taking train

Today, I went back home by train. The time of my train is in the afternoon. I thought it was not so many people in that time. But I was wrong. I know next Tuesday is Moon Festival. Many people want to go home and accompany with their family. Therefore, everyone will want to go home as soon as possible. In the beginning, I thought there will have a lot of people want to go home in the evening, but when I wanted to take train I found out it was so many people in the train station to wait for train coming. After pass by few stations, there are more and more people get on the train. Suddenly, the coach crowd a lot of people, and the train delayed for half hour. It made my father wait for me for a period of time. Even worse, it rained when I was on the way home. I almost wet just because the train delayed so long. I hoped this kind of experience won’t happened again.

Free time in this morning

Actually, I had to go to school this morning, but I didn’t go to school. Because the class dismiss this morning, for this reason I don’t have go to school. Therefore, I waked up late this morning and do whatever I like in my room. I prepared a lesson for my listening class in the after noon. Besides I prepared the materials for my work, than I watched a baseball game, too. I really like this kind of free time in this morning. I can do I need to do, and I don’t have to worry I have enough time or not. The lifestyle is just what I want it. I hope I can have this kind of free time again.

My new class

I started a new class in my work place today. On Monday, my boss told me there was a little problem happened in my original class. My boss said “one of your students won’t come here again, so it just has few students in your class, but we have another class for you.” First of all, I felt very surprise that student didn’t come anymore, but I still accept it. That is why I got a new class from that moment.
Today, it is the first day I began to teach them. All of them are so cute and well-behaved. But some of them still were not good at all. Besides, the situation of the students, I made a small mistake, too. I forgot to teach them how to do the homework, but the class almost dismiss, so I spent a little time to tell them how to write. After I made this mistake that makes me know I should control the better in next time. In short, I really like this class very much.

Typhoon

There was a typhoon came to Taiwan today. The North of Taiwan doesn’t have to go to work and go to school. But in the South of Taiwan, we don’t have any holiday. We still have to go to school. That is a very awful thing for me. Because it was a raining likes dog and cat outside. If we go outside, our jeans would be wet. I really hate that. I hope we can have a holiday when typhoon comes.

writing class

Today, it is the beginning of the semester. We have a new teacher in our writing class. It is a first time we have a foreign teacher to teach writing. It is a new experience for me. It sounds very interesting, but the homework about the blog a little too much. Finally, I hope I can improve my writing skill in this class.
